Leveraging Data and AI for Earth Observation: Navigating Challenges and Unlocking New Frontiers
This keynote will explore the dynamic landscape of Earth Observation (EO), focusing on the role of data and Artificial Intelligence. We will delve into the inherent challenges and emerging opportunities within this domain, from the intricacies of AI model training and inference with vast EO datasets to the strategic implications of major satellite programs and efficient access to public data sources.
The discussion will showcase compelling existing use cases of AI in EO, highlight the cutting-edge frameworks supporting development in this field, and examine the critical role of specialized AI training datasets. Furthermore, we will shed light on the area of Geo Foundation Models and the significant contributions of European projects at the intersection of AI and Earth Observation.
Biography
