AI for Science: Strategies, Policies, Resources

Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission, DG Research & Innovation, AI in Science & Critical Technologies Unit (E4), Dr Lars De Nul, will present the European Union’s new strategy in this field, which will be officially published in early October. His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion, where we will take a closer look at how AI can be supported and encouraged across different scientific disciplines.
Joining the discussion will be Dr Tomaž Boh, Director-General of the Science and Innovation Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Tanasko Tasić, Capacity Building Officer at EURAMET e.V., Prof Tejs Vegge Head of the section for Autonomous Materials
Discovery at DTU Energy, Technical University of Denmark, and the
Director of the Danish National Research Foundation
“Pioneer Center for Accelerating P2X Materials Discovery”, and Sašo Džeroski
a scientific councilor (senior researcher) at JSI, full professor at
the Jozef Stefan International Postgraduate School, and visiting
professor at the European Space Agency.
The panel will take place on Thursday, 25 September, from 16:30 to 18:00.
