Jana Javornik

Biography

Jana Javornik is an interdisciplinary scholar, policy adviser, and policymaker whose research spans comparative welfare states, employment and policy analysis, sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion, social justice, AI ethics, and research impact. Working at the interface of academia and policy making across countries and cultures, she advocates for collaborative knowledge production and systematic use of evidence in decision-making. A core focus of her work is reimagining scientific research as a collective, socially responsible endeavour, aiming to reassert the role of science as a common societal good, foregrounding inclusion, justice, and sustainability in both knowledge creation and application.
